Hi guys, today on How to style I am going to be showing you how to wear pastel shades. Many clothes sold in winter are dark such as navy, black and dark green. So I’m very glad it’s summer and we can finally shop lots of beautiful pastel coloured clothes in shops. So how do you wear pastels this summer?
Wear Pastel Colours
When styling pastels it is still important not to go overboard with too many colours. I would say have a maximum of three different shades within one outfit. For me this week I chose light blue, pastel pink, and a light burnt orange tone. However, there are more combinations that you can choose. For example, why not to style lavender with soft pink or yellow with washed orange?
I firstly start with my fabulous light blue jeggings. Now you know I’m not really a jeans person but I absolutely love these jean leggings! The material is extremely comfy and soft. Perfect for if you have eaten too much over the weekend. I wanted to keep the top section of my outfit quite light and girly. So I chose this beautiful pale pink silk top. What I love the most about this top is its small pleat detailing on either side. It makes this top super fun and easy to wear.
I wanted to keep the footwear elegant so I went with a high block heeled sandal in light burnt orange. These shoes are really well made and extremely comfy. You won’t believe it, but I can wear them all day! Making them ideal for lunch out or and an evening date. I felt that pairing this pastel shade with the other lighter colours really made the outfit pop and stand out.
Now if I were to leave this outfit here it would be a perfectly lovely summer evening outfit. However, it was super cold in London last week and I thought I might just freeze to death going out without a jacket. So I’ve decided to wear pastel coat. This coat is great as it can be used in summer as well as winter and its petal-like design really sets the outfit off giving a feel of sophistication and elegance.
I didn’t want to go overboard with accessories, so I chose a simple small bead silver necklace to complete the look. This necklace is perfect in size and can go with everything as it doesn’t draw too much attention!
What girl wouldn’t be complete without a Louis Vuitton bag! To add some depth to this light outfit I chose to have my Louis accompany my look. I know these bags are expensive, but they are impeccably made and generally last a lifetime if cared for well. I’ve bought a small cute keychain and put it on the front of the bag. It just gives this bag the extra wow factor.
I wanted to keep the pastel shades simple but working effectively. Too may colours would overcrowd this look and it wouldn’t have the same beauty or elegance that it has now. I feel like floral coat brings the outfit together thanks to a variety of colours in its design. Pairing the Louis Vuitton bag with the outfit just adds depth and charm while the coat makes this outfit practical for almost any season.
Pastels are really in this trend, so why not to check how I’ve styled a beautiful pastel pink midi skirt for a date with my boyfriend!
