Hi guys, today on how to style I am going to be telling you how to style floral prints. What looks you can create and how can you mix floral prints in your outfits in a trendy way. I wanted to keep this outfit ferry light and girly. Perfect for a lunch date or time spent with family. I love how this outfit is elegant and sophisticated but also extremely comfortable to wear. You don’t need to add a lot of accessories as the pattern in the skirt has enough detail to grab people’s attention. Have a look at my way of styling this whimsical floral look and hopefully get inspired!
How to style floral prints?
When you are working with floral prints it is a key to keeping calm and be simple. You never want to have too much going on. Floral patterns were everywhere during the summer 2015. All the high-street shops such as Topshop, Zara, New Look could all be seen selling beautiful floral patterns from tops to socks. There are many ways you could wear florals, but today I am going to show you how to wear a skirt with floral patterns. Many people would stick to the usual jeans and a floral top. Well, not me! I wanted to create a look that was whimsical and fairytale like. When I came across this floral skirt in Topshop it just blew me away. All the beautiful colours that had been put together really stood out to me. I knew I just had to buy it and I did 🙂
What I loved the most about this particular skirt was the fact that you could take any of the colours running through the skirt and could create completely different looks just by swapping in different colours.
For my whimsical look, I decided to go with this stunning floating layered blouse from Zara. I couldn’t believe how well the pale blue tone matched the skirt so well. This top screams elegance to me. It’s floating three quarter length sleeve gradually gets longer as it flows down your arms. The small details in design are stunning and the cut of this garment is just impeccable with its high-low rise silhouette.
So we have the main look completed. Now what kind of footwear should be worn with such an outfit?
I wanted to keep the soft colour tones running through this look, so I chose to pair this look with a gorgeous pair of Topshop block heeled sandals. I chose burnt orange as it really complimented the outfit and added another dimension in colour. To finish my outfit off I added this stunning crystallised look red pendant necklace, which I bought from Topshop last summer and the brown leather bag. It adds a boho feel to my look.
What else could I style this floral print skirt with?
With this skirt having so many different colours in it, you could choose multiple different looks with this one skirt. Why not try a deep red roll neck like this one from Topshop. Paired with a pair of brown ankle boots from Public Desire for a cold winters day.
