So many people are incredibly unhappy with their #career choice in life that a career change is the only option to make them feel that life has some meaning. Ultimately, when it comes to making any sort of career choice, we have to think about our thoughts and feelings. But how can we choose a career that will fulfil us and make us feel at the end of the day that we have achieved something?
DIGGING DEEP INTO YOUR SOUL
When on this treadmill they call life, we don’t have much of an opportunity to consider what we really want to do. If you’ve been through school, then went on to college or university, you may have been swept along by the momentum of life and education, but by the time you’ve graduated and got yourself a cushy job somewhere you realise that this isn’t actually what you want to do, and it’s not making you feel #happy at all. This is why so many people have that quarter-life crisis, and why nowadays people change careers at the flip of a switch. But we can save a lot of time by listening to ourselves and thinking hard about our life passions.
FINDING SOMETHING THAT IMPROVES YOUR QUALITY OF LIFE
It’s all well and good to follow your passions because this will make you feel a sense of #fulfilment. But a lot of people can become disenchanted with their career choice, medical doctors being an excellent example. And this is why you have to do sufficient soul searching as early as possible because we spend so much time in our place of work that we need something that challenges us, even if it’s not what we originally envisioned, but also improves our quality of life. This can fall down to various factors, not just money, but #worklifebalance, the workplace culture, and, most importantly, if you feel content where you are.
It may sound like a big ask, but do you want to look back on your life and feel that you wasted a third of it? Because this is the amount of time we generally spend in our workplace. Make it count.
