Valentine’s Day is here! If you’ve been so busy trying to find the perfect gift or a gorgeous new lingerie set, that you’ve left your date night outfit to the last minute – don’t panic, help is at hand. Dressing up for date night can be absolute mayhem, so don’t even get us started on what happens once Valentine’s Day rolls around. One minute you’re cruising through your closet, excited for a special evening, and the next, you’ve blacked out. Only to wake and find your room has been completely transformed — the once freshly Swiffered floors are replaced by a mountain range of discarded clothing, and yet you’ve made no progress on what to wear.
Let’s not let that stressful scenario ever happen again. Getting ready for such a romantic evening should be mindless. To save you from one extra stress, I have prepared the list of how to save your St. Valentine’s Day date night outfit when you are just about to break down!
What to Wear on Valentine’s Day
You have a date, your reservations are set, but there’s one last piece of Valentine’s Day puzzle: figuring out what to wear. Whether you’re going out with your girlfriends or having a cosy night in with someone special, dressing the part can make all the difference.
What is a centrepiece of the outfit?
First thing first, you need to decide what is going to be a centrepiece of your outfit. This one is easy. Even if it’s your jeans, not a cute dress, it’s absolutely fine. You need to make sure you feel comfortable in what you wear. This way you will feel confident, shiny and happy. I would only suggest you choosing something at least semi-feminine for such a special occasion. Here are a couple of ideas:
- high-waisted jeans and a graphic T-shirt, preferable pink T-Shirt with red print.
- sophisticated and feminine dress with a defined waistline.
- Corduroy Cropped Wide Leg Trousers.
- Satin-jacquard mini skirt.
Next, wear heels!
Ladies, if you were looking forward to ditching the high heels after a painful party season, this may make you think twice. Because despite the blisters, bunions and occasional stumble, they really do make women look more attractive, scientists say. Just choose a pair that is semi-comfortable and off you go!

Red lipstick is a key
If you ask me, I love red lipstick. I am wearing it quite often and not for any excuses. Red lipstick makes you look more attractive and sensual, it’s not a secret. If you never wear a red lip, St. Valentine’s Day is a perfect occasion to start. First of all, I am sure you are going to get addicted to it after a million compliments you are going to get. Secondly, you will make your boyfriend a bit happier.
Finally, just be and feel happy
This is crucial, no matter how beautiful your outfit is and how perfect is the shade of the lipstick you have chosen, if you are not feeling happy, the outfit is going to be ruined. I am a strong believer that if a woman is happy, satisfied and naturally glowing, she can wear absolutely anything and look effortlessly gorgeous!
