Tonight The Beatles: Eight Days a Week will be released theatrically in the United Kingdom and the United States. It will be debuting on the streaming service on 17 September. The Beatles: Eight Days a Week – The Touring Years is an upcoming British-American documentary film directed by Ron Howard. The movie is about The Beatles’ career during their touring years from 1962–1966, from their performances at the Cavern Club in Liverpool to their final concert in San Francisco in 1966. Recently, I really got into watching documentary movies. They inspire me, give me more ideas about the culture and develop the way I am thinking in general. Frankly, I would be the happiest person on the Planet Earth to get invited to the premiere of The Beatles: Eight Days a Week – The Touring Years. Read my little How to Dress Up for a Movie Premiere guide to find out what do I recommend to wear to the film premier nowadays and why.
Don’t Do Classic
First of all, many people think (and I thought so too) that a movie premier involves walks on a red carpet and gowns embellished with crystals worn casually. Whilst it is true for celebrities, movie stars, and huge influencers, it is not like that at all for an unknown human being. If you are a celebrity, you will not even need to think about what to wear to a film premier. You will be assigned a stylist who’s work is to make sure you sparkle like a star on the red carpet and not being missed by any photographer.
While I am working my way up to the celebrity level (haha), this is what I would wear to a premiere of The Beatles: Eight Days a Week – The Touring Years.
Handbag is Important
Again, I am sure there is a stereotype that you have to wear a clutch bag to the premier night. “REALLY” good if it is glitzy (Nah). This is not for me. Seriously, I would not feel comfortable and also: what can you fit in that little clutch? I think, the key to being able to enjoy the night to its full is to be yourself! Wear clothes that reflect your personal style and looks elegant. Therefore, I would recommend going for a medium size shoulder bag. From my experience, this size is perfect to fit all your makeup essentials, phone, power bank, some cash, a little bottle of water and a hand sanitiser. I am a very conservative person in terms of what I like. So I only feel comfortable when everything I might need is with me. In addition, I don’t mind carrying slightly bigger handbag for my comfort and recommend you to approach it the same way.
Here is a tip. If you don’t like wearing evening gowns or coming to the premier of the movie after a long day at the office, just choose elongated silhouette. It always looks much slicker, more sophisticated and elegant. The bonus: you will feel very comfortable in it during all day and night, come across as a person with a good sense of style and kind of like you did not care too much about your appearance. Effortless chic is very trending these days. I would give my preference to stylish culottes, elongated duster with long sleeves – no belt, and minimal top. Great option for autumn could be to choosing a cashmere clothing. For example, an elongated cashmere jacket instead of a duster. If you would like to look a bit dress up, why not to rock the lingerie trend? Go for a camisole silk top with lace detail or just wear a bandeau is you are brave (and in a good shape)!
If you are dying to be noticed by the other guests of the movie premier, wear statement shoes. Because shoes are a big thing now! There is a massive variety of shoe models that are trending at the moment. While your outfit may be casual to an extend, shoes are the part to rock! Most importantly, shoes are able to dramatically change your look from boring to chic. My favourite picks are metal, see- though, tribal patterns. Because I went for a neutral clothes combination, I wanted to keep the theme with my shoes. In my opinion, this is a very elegant choice and makes the outfit pop. Since shoes are transparent, people might be curious to see, if I came bare feet. In addition, they are very comfortable.

Most Important, Be Yourself
Sometimes, people think that they need to dress up for an occasion. They take it too seriously. My best friend used to always get stressed a couple of nights before the important event. Surprisingly, with her huge wardrobe and great sense of style, she never had an appropriate outfit. I believe, occasions like movie premier night, first date, important business meeting or meeting His parents are meant to be easy and relaxed. It is time to enjoy yourself, explore new people and events. Therefore, don’t invent complicated outfits. Just stick to your personal style. Give a preference to things you have been enjoying wearing recently. In my opinion, the most important part of the occasion is to enjoy the evening and present your true self to people. Don’t try to be somebody else. People always notice disharmony.
I think, nowadays, dress code is a very weak term. It still makes sense to stick to a dress code strictly, when it is required by the host of the event. But don’t take it too serious and please, don’t make it look to classic or old-style. Just make sure your outfit is clean and ironed.
