How to style for coffee with the girls?

Hi all, hope you are loving the weather! Today on How to style I am going to be sharing my thoughts for what you could wear for a coffee date with the girls.

How do I style for coffee with the girls?

Going out with the girls can sometimes be a little tricky. You don’t want to be overdressed, however, you don’t want to have not put any effort in. You still want your friends to think how stylish and fashionable you are. But you want to achieve this by being able to not have to do a lot. The outfit I have decided to share with you would best suit an afternoon with friends. Today’s outfit is a green suede mini skirt and a red blouse combo. I really love this look. It is simple to wear and create, but at the same time looks like an effort has gone into making me look stylish.

The skirt of my choice is a green suede mini skirt that perfectly sits on my hips and has a perfect length. It is mini, but it is still long enough for me to feel comfortable. Suede is one of the current fashion trends, so this allows the look to seem super stylish even though it’s just a skirt. I decided to pair this skirt with a red blouse. I adore the bow detailing on the front of the shirt and the colour really makes this look pop. Some people are wondering if it’s suitable to pair red and green in one outfit. I would say ‘YES’, it’s one of my favourite colour combinations. Red and green work very well by contrasting each other.

I didn’t want to wear heels for this occasion. I wanted to be comfy as there usually is a little shopping spree in the works when I meet my friends (*even if it is not planned we always end up in the shops). So this blue chunky sole shoe worked perfectly not only for meeting with my girls but also with the look in general. I find that navy often compliments the colours green and red.

Another essential accessory when meeting the girls is a watch. This is so you can keep an eye on the time when out and about. I often find that when I meet with the friends time just runs away with us and so I often run late for later engagements. This particular watch is from Uncle Jack. It is an Australian company that designs great quality watches. I love the graffiti style design on this watch, it is super trendy and cool.

To complete my look I went for my beige Michael Kors handbag, ideal for an afternoon trip out. This bag is bound to wow all your friends and make the super envious. It quickly turned into my favourite handbag.

Why did I style this suede mini skirt this way?

Like I said I wanted to create a look that was stylish and fashionable without having to put in a lot of effort. This look is super easy to create and really doesn’t need a lot of time spent on it. Ideal for if you have more than one engagement in that day. You can just get up and go.

What other outfits would be suitable for girls only meetings?

Another simple yet stylish look to go with on an afternoon out with the girls would be a pair of black skinny jeans, ankle boots of your choice and colour, a stylish roll neck jumper and a no sleeve overcoat. Again super easy to throw on, but will make your friends turning green with style envy.

I hope you liked how I styled this green suede mini skirt and have found my styling tips useful. You might also like to check my collaborative outfit post with Dorothy Perkins!

You get a lot more dolled up for coffee with the girls than I do! I love wearing some skinny jeans, a pair of cute flats, and a cute tee! But gotta say, I ADORE your outfit! That apple red is SO pretty on you!
