Four staple holiday accessories

staple holiday accessories

I don’t know about you, but whenever I go on holiday, there are a few things that I just can’t manage without. Everyone needs those last few items that tie whole outfits together, otherwise, you feel as if something is missing. It’s those few items that are right at the top of your list, and if you forget them, you end up buying replacements while you’re there and kicking yourself for your ineptitude.

If I want to remain practical as well as stylish, then making sure I’m organised is absolutely essential – hopefully, my list of staple holiday accessories should jog your memory for your own travels.

  1. My over-sized handbag

Like I said, you can be fashionable as well as practical if you know which accessories to put where. The next time you’re shopping, keep your eyes peeled for an over-sized, statement handbag. I generally go for leather totes and other shoppers in a bold colour; they’re hard-wearing, they never go out of style, and if you pick colours that will work with your summer wardrobe then it will go with every outfit, limiting the number of handbags you have to take with you. You’ll only need this one and an evening clutch. If you have a nautical wardrobe, go for a cobalt blue or ruby red. If you’re all about coral this year, go for a contrast complementary colour like turquoise.

  1. Everyone needs a travel wallet

Travel wallets are the newest and most essential fashion accessory. It’s that one place where you can keep everything from currency to passports and boarding passes, and these days you can get some stunning leather ones that are very hard-wearing in beautiful patterns. This is the ultimate blend of practicality and design.

  1. Pack your statement jewellery

I always find it far easier to take one set of statement jewellery with me that I will wear every day and with most outfits. Not only do I get to wear my favourite pieces again and again, but it limits the worry I have that I might leave something behind or lose it on a beach. This year, I’m loving the charm bracelets comeback. You can find many high-quality charm collections on the ChloBo website, by clicking here.

  1. Don’t forget your 50s sunglasses

Sunglasses are obviously an essential item in terms of eye protection, but they’re also a great piece of fashion that can help to spruce up any look. If you pick yourself up a pair of 50s style sunglasses this year, pair it with a head scarf or sunhat and you’ll be channelling your inner Audrey Hepburn before you know it! In particular, I’m loving the white over-sized frames at the minute that are straying into the 60s era. They go perfectly with the bold accessories I always use to tie my outfits together.

I can’t agree with you more about the oversized handbag, I went out the other day and I could barely fit anything in it and of course because its the UK it was raining and my umbrella couldn’t go in!! x
