Semi Permanent Make Up in London. My Experience

Semi Permanent Make Up in London. My Experience

Today I’m going to be telling you all about my experience of doing a semi-permanent brow makeup. I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but my brows had slightly changed (I am so glad about it!). A long time ago a friend of mine told my sister and me about she’s made her brows and how now her life is so much easier. If she didn’t tell us, I would never notice that she had done something to her brows. They look so natural and perfect… So my sister and I got very excited about semi permanent make up and decided to try it too. I’ve sent my sister Genia to do it first as she is braver then me 🙂 Impressed with her results, I couldn’t wait to go too. So, here is my story!

Why did I decide to do a brows semi permanent make up?

Now I never had a major problem with my eyebrows, but there were things I wanted to improve. What I wanted to fix were a couple of sparse areas and also a colour. My brows are naturally quite light in colour, they are situated on a different level and have a little different curve to them on different sides. Because I like to do quite intense make-up, I always struggled with my brows to look good without spending a lot of time.

What is a process of doing semi permanent make up?

With my semi permanent make up therapist Karina, we’ve decided to create a perfect shape of brows during my first visit and intensify the colour during the second visit, if it still will be needed. She told me on my first visit that brow’s semi permanent make up is being done during 2 visits. First visit is to create a perfect shape of the brows and match the colour. It’s normally 1-1,5 hours long. Then I had to wait a month for a second visit. On a second visit, we’ve made a slight improvement to the shape and intensified the colour a little bit, because I wanted to have a darker shade of my brows. My second visit took up to one hour. I thought it’s quite quick for a result I achieved. In total, I’ve spent 2,5 hours maximum on my brows. But I will tell you something! If I calculate all the time I’ve previously spent shaping my brows and doing a brow’s make up every day, I really saved my time in a long term.

Is semi permanent make up procedure painful?

No, not at all. In fact I really relaxed during the procedure and even managed to fall asleep during my first visit (*on the second visit me and Karina were talking about healthy eating, so I was excited and didn’t sleep!). The procedure of semi permanent make up starts with mapping your brows. Once Karina created a perfect brows for my face’s shape and complexion, she applied a pain killer cream. I should say that in the beginning I could feel a little bit of pain, but after pain killer absorbed into the skin I couldn’t feel anything anymore and just relaxed. But honestly, it doesn’t hurt at all! After your first and second visit, Karina gives you a gel that helps your brows to heal. You need to apply it a couple of times a day during one week to help your brows heal better.

Would I recommend doing semi permanent brows?

Yes, for sure! In fact, I will try to take my mum to do her brows when she comes to visit my sister and me in London. Overall I should say that I’m very glad I’ve done my brows. The main result for me is that I look good and groomed with full face of make up or without any make-up at all. I believe that brows are very important in terms of how we look. Perfectly shaped brows help us to look younger, fresher, prettier and happier.

I’ve wanted to do this for a while now. I wish I knew of someone here in the US who could do them as well as Karina did. They look amazing! Thank you for describing the process as well.

      Hi Lily,

It’s not painful at all, honestly! Just a little bit first 1-3 minutes and then it’s not at all. Xxx

They look so good! I would definitely consider getting semi-permanent make-up, especially is it doesn’t hurt which would be my greatest fear! If only they made semi-permanent foundation… x
