How to wear designer belts?

designer belts maxmara

Today on my beauty and fashion blog I am styling a statement piece – a designer belt from MaxMara. Designer clothing is something I dream more about than own at the moment. Frankly, I cannot afford many expensive things at the moment. But designer belts, shoes and bags are something I always save for and invest at the correct time. Simply because, they are very high-quality items, designed with thoughts and concept behind them and normally can be worn for many years!

This leather belt by MaxMara was definitely a splurge. Since the day I saw it for the first time, I could not walk past it. I have been checking it again and again in-store and online waiting for the time it goes on sale. And voila, I have it know. Because I am a big fan of vivid and bright outfits, I have decided I’m going to wear this bright waist belt with colourful clothing and neutral accessories. Waist belts, especially wide like this one are able to underline your waist, make it visually smaller and compliment feminine body shape.

A cute little turquoise ribbon on the belt worn as a bow balances the heavy leather of the belt material. All the colours of this ootd work well together and make each other pop. I am comfortable with wearing a lot of bright colours, but if you are not… Why not try wearing this belt with a black shift dress or white t-shirt dress? The statement piece like this will brighten up the look and turn a simple everyday dress into a stylish piece of wardrobe!

QUESTION OF THE DAY:

Do you invest in designer pieces, such as leather belts or shoes? Or prefer high-street?

This belt is so beautiful and definitely a classic that you will wear forever. I am totally with you on investing in pieces that you will wear forever vs. trendier items that may go out of style soon. I can see this belt styled in so many ways. Such a good purchase! xoxo, Christine

Belts are one of my favorite things to invest in. Plus, they don’t take up much space, so if they ever go out of style you can keep them around until they come back in. Because, as we all know, fashion is cyclical. Thanks for sharing girl!

Love how you styled this designer belt! I could see you pairing it with something basic as well like a black or white dress or even with some cute trousers.

It’s such a beautiful belt. But I love your skirt and shoes too. I try and avoid fast fashion these days and go for things a little more ethically made where possible and invest in better quality pieces. Although anything luxury is out of my budget!

This belt is so pretty and unique and I really like the skirt you styled it with too! I don’t have many designer pieces either and I agree that a belt is a great piece to go for, as you can wear it with so many different outfits 🙂

Your outfit is really pretty! I’ve been buying high-street fashion for years now but I’d like to invest in designer pieces from now on 🙂

You look beautiful, Yuliya! I love your new belt and it looks perfect paired with this outfit. I remember my first designer item was actually a Gucci belt, which was given to me as a High School graduation gift. I still treasure it and come to think of it, haven’t worn it in quite some time; you’ve inspired me to wear it soon. I also don’t own a ton of designer items, but the pieces I do have are special and I know I’ll wear them for years to come. When I do purchase them, I tend to look for styles that are more classic as opposed to trendy, which I’ll purchase from high street instead. Thanks so much for sharing and I hope you have amazing week ahead, girlie!

This dress and belts are awesome Yuliya! Is it practic for city wearing?

Thank you. I think it depends on your lifestyle. I love wearing dresses and skirts. They fit well in my lifestyle: meetings, attending fashion shows, press days, presentations, events. And I always feel very comfortable. I think this is the key xxx
