A good day starts with a great morning routine. I truly believe that the way you start your day reflects on its quality in general – how effective you are and how happy you feel from the moment you take a shower to the time you lay your head on a pillow. Having good habits and routine in the morning helps me to wake up – mentally and physically – and be ready to achieve new goals.
I like to take my time in the morning. Thankfully, I work for myself and can afford to wake up slowly and not having to rush. This is such a bless! My morning routine normally takes an hour. Here are the things I like to do in the morning to make me feel upbeat and comfortable for the rest of the day. Try to include a couple of my tips into your routine, and I guarantee, you will notice a huge difference in your productivity and how you feel about yourself!
Wake Up Early
The fact that I work from home doesn’t mean that I have a lay in. Of course, I can wake up at 7:30-8 am rather than 6 am as the majority of young professionals in London do. But I believe that it is better to start your day bright and early. Waking up later may make you feel as if you are already behind the schedule. Try to start your work at 8-9 am as most of the offices do.
First thing after I wake up is a coffee for me. I always have my coffee in bed while reading and replying to all your comments on Instagram and blog. Feeling your support is the best way to start a day, I am very grateful for my readers.
The Best Shower Routine
The next thing I do is taking a shower. I never skip my shower in the morning. Interestingly enough, I used to always have my showers twice a day – in the morning and in the evening, when I lived in Ukraine. Since I moved to London and was diagnosed with eczema, I follow my doctor’s advice and take showers in the morning. Once a day only.
Contrast shower is something I always loved. I take my time, change water from hot to cold. The difference in temperatures helps me to fully wake up and energise my body.

Plan The Day
Now it is time to plan my day. But not without a cup of coffee with my favourite almond milk! I believe it is essential to be organized at work and have clear goals and coffee helps to clear my mind. Planning my diary only takes about 5-10 minutes daily, but makes a huge difference mindset and efficiency.
I always start my work with checking the emails and taking notes of the things that need to be solved urgently. I try to reply to all the emails during first 30-60 minutes and then move on to other daily activities. I find it helpful to have a To-Do list. I feel very happy to scribble down my tasks as the day goes by.
