Why does everyone need a fan brush?

Why does everyone need a fan brush?

Today I’m going to be reviewing a fan brush for you. The one I have in my collection is from Smashbox. When I was 13-year-old I used to go to makeup classes and I was told that fan brushes are designed to brush away an eyeshadow fall outs. I though it was a huge splurge to buy a designated brush for mistakes and just left it alone. Until the moment when highlighter became BIG!

One day I’ve seen NikkieTutorials using a fan brush to apply a highlighter and realised I cannot live without this amazing makeup brush any longer! Smashbox fan brush is a feather-light fan brush, which allows you to softly and seamlessly apply high and low lights as well as blush. You can use it to apply the darkest shades lightly for a perfect, natural finish every time. As I’ve mentioned previously, it’s also a must-have tool for lifting away any excess shadow that may have fallen during application without disturbing makeup. This brush is super fine and lightweight and is extremely easy to use.

How to use a fan brush?

I use this fan brush in two ways – to apply highlighter on cheekbones as well as to apply bronzer (yes!) around my forehead. I feel like this brush distributes illuminating powders seamlessly. Great if you are looking for a light weight application. The reason why I use it to apply a bronzer on my forehead is because I figured it fits so well in that area and gives me that perfect slight bronze effect. A fan brush is very easy to use because I can turn it and control the vector of the application!

You won’t be able to achieve a boom in your face highlighter effect with this brush on its own! But there is obviously a solution. If you want to pack on highlighter, so everyone from Cosmos can see it, apply a layer on cheekbones, then sprits Fix+ or any other setting spray on a cheekbone area and apply highlighter again. Repeat as many times as you want to achieve your perfect glamorous make-up look.

Is fan brush good for makeup beginners?

Bronzing and highlighting is a huge part of today’s makeup world. Learning how to do it correctly is super important. This brush allows even the littlest of experienced of people be able to create a beautiful contoured look within minutes. I love the packaging of this brush red is my favourite colour and this product is one of my favourite brushes.

There is one thing that I don’t like too much about Smashbox brushes. Sometimes they get too fluffy and lose shape. Therefore I recommend washing them often and store standing in the glass. This will allow you to maintain the designed shape. which means the brush will work longer for you!

Where can you buy Fan Brush by Smashbox?

You can purchase Smashbox Fan Brush, £15 at any Smashbox kiosk or online at www.smashbox.co.uk.

For the longest while, I had no clue what the fan brush was to be used for, but it always came in the brush sets I purchased. Then, like you, I started to see a lot of beauty gurus use them to apply highlighter. I think it’s the brush that I have, but it doesn’t give me as much of an impact as I’d like, so I use a different one instead. Perhaps I need to try out this one by Smashbox, it looks more condensed than the one I have. Thanks for sharing and I hope you’re having a great week so far, girlie!

These brushes have often confused me. I’m not a huge make up obsessed woman as I come from a long line of tom boys. No one was able to show me the ropes. This was great to learn exactly how to use these brushes. Thanks!

It is REALLY time for me to pick up a fan brush. I’m not a makeup expert and could certainly use all the help I can get in terms of applying bronzer and highlighting. You have convinced me!
