Living in a busy and dynamic city makes it essential to relax after a stressful day at work. For example, London is an amazing city with a lot of opportunities. Many of us move to London in order to build our careers and create a better life for ourselves. Some even regret that there are only 24 hours in a day. Many young women in London, including myself, try to make these hours as productive as possible. We want to be active, successful, pretty and also build a personal life, fall in love and settle down. Often we forget about our mental and physical health, getting too tired and almost depressed. We are pushing our body limits. Even though human’s body can cope with a lot of pressure, it can give up sometimes. And when the body decides to give up, it is not fun at all.
Today, I would like to share my top 5 ways to relax after work. Following these steps every now and then and finding time to pamper yourself at home will help to create a balance between your body and mind. This will give you power and energy to achieve more goals, stay healthy and be a much happier person in general.
Reconnect With Nature
Think of nature as a huge source of endless energy. Nature is clever. It knows how to regenerate itself. Also, it is very generous to us. What can be better than going outside for a 30-minute walk at a local park? Luckily, London is a very green city. It is full of small and large parks. Straight after the stressful day at the office, go back home, change into a cosy outfit, take a bottle of water and go outside. Go alone. Take time for yourself. Don’t talk to anyone or distract yourself with anything else. Just go to the park, breathe deeply and appreciate every moment of silence.
It is even better if you have a garden. In this case, make yourself a cup of your favourite tea and go outside. Appreciate the sound of a wind, breathe deeply and count the stars. When was the last time you had 30 minutes of life just for yourself? No phone, no conversations, no checking emails? Exactly! Just looking at all the greenery while sipping on your tea will help you relax. If you are brave enough, take your shoes off and walk bare feet on the grass. You will be surprised how relaxing this activity is.
Take a Warm Bath Before Bedtime
How to distress and sleep well after a full-on day at work? If you have trouble falling asleep, try taking a warm bath 2 hours before you go to the bed. A warm bath will help you to unwind and rebalance the energy. I always include my skin care routine in the pampering sessions.
